Description: Clair Tappaan Lodge

In 1934, a dedicated group of Sierra Club volunteers built Clair Tappaan Lodge. The Lodge is located 25 miles from Lake Tahoe in the Central Sierra Nevada and is situated on a forested hillside near historic Donner Pass. Its proximity to premier areas for winter skiing and summer hiking and climbing make it the perfect getaway retreat. Today the time-honoured Lodge is still thriving. The moment you step through the massive doors into the comfortable interior, it is evident that the lodge retains all of its original rustic charm. The Lodge boasts a cheerful dining room, a large living room with a huge fireplace, a cozy library with a wood-burning stove, a recreation room, and a hot tub. Sleeping accommodations include separate dormitories for men and women, small rooms for couples, and larger rooms for families. Guests must bring their own sleeping bags or bedding. The bathrooms are shared.

Women's Dorms(Suite)

The women's dorms are available to everybody. The women's dorm holds 23 people.

Men's Dorms(Suite)

The Men's dorm is available to everybody. The men's dorm holds 10 people.

Group Dorm(Suite)

Five to twelve single bunk dorms. Can be booked for families, small groups.

Semi-Private Two-Person Room(Suite)

Cozy two-person room with a bunk bed. Good for people who want to experience the communal nature of the lodge but prefer a greater level of privacy.
